Text

Dear Mr. Hunt/ Can you leave time, and will you form one Central Woman Suffrage League for Springfield/ You will see by this week's Woman's Journal what is proposed./ We do need to combine the strength we have, so that it may affect the election of candidates for the legislature./ You could follow our plan. i.e. do what seems the best thing to be done in Springfield./ I am glad you are writing for the Springfield papers on this question - it reaches a new audience, and the people need light. That is all./ Your item is set up, but the crowd of advertisements, which is our wealth

crowded it, with much other reading matter out. But it will be in next week./ With kind regards to your wife and to you and in the hope that you can unite suffragists of Springfield in a strong league/ I am yours very truly/ Lucy Stone
