The mission of the Woman&#039;s Advocate was to &quot;labor for the legal and political equality of women . . . . also consider the questions of woman&#039;s work, wages, education, and social status. It will record the progress of the cause abroad, and aim to be a faithful index of all important home movements.&quot;  The publication was absorbed by the Woman&#039;s Journal in 1870.<br />

Women quoted include former First Lady Mrs. Benjamin Harrison, wife of President Harrison; Mrs. Francis W. Goodard, President of the Colonial Dames of Colorado; Anna Roosevelt Cowles, sister of President Teddy Roosevelt, cousin to President Franklin D. Roosevelt and distant cousin to First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt; and Agnes Irwin, former Dean of Radcliffe College in Cambridge, MA.<br />
