Mr. Curtiss,
Dear Sir,

As agent of the Mass. Woman Suffrage Ass. I propose to visit Berkshire Co. Sept. 15th, there to remain a month. Can you make an appointment for me to lecture in your town during the month? Should prefer the first week, as I have engagements in that vicinity. We expect the friends who make these appointments for us to hire the hall, see that the bills which I will send you are well posted, and that some responsible person meets the lecturer at the depot to inform her where she is to be entertained. The association assumes all expenses but it is desirable that the friends in the different towns pay there [sic] expenses, still that is not required. The meetings are free, a collection to be taken in the hall. Was instructed to write to you by a lady of G. Barrington as an influential citizen, though she was ignorant of your principles. Trusting that you will use your influence to get me a hearing whatever your principles may be, and will reply to me immediately I remain

Yours truly,
Miss Hulda B. Loud
E. Abington
Mass.
