Published from 1883 to 1909 and established by Clara Bewick Colby, the Woman's Tribune was the first daily paper ever produced and edited by a woman. It was published in Beatrice, Nebraska and in Washington, D.C. until Colby moved to Portland, Oregon in 1904. It ceased publication in 1909.
This issue contains a report by Managing Editor, S.R.L. Williams, on the 17th National Convention of the National Woman Suffrage Association held in Washington, D.C. on January 20-22; a speech by Elizabeth Cady Stanton; a reprint of a letter from William Lloyd Garrison to Susan B. Anthony dated Jan. 11, 1885; and a list of all the officers of the National Woman Suffrage Association for 1885.

Missouri Hanna was the founder and editor of the Edmonds Review in 1904. She is considered the first woman newspaper publisher in Washington. Correspondence, conference programs, speeches, position papers, newsletters, sheet music, congressional reports, stock certificates, printed materials, and more present a view of the individuals and organizations that fought for and against political, economic, and social rights for women. <br /><br />The records primarily document the American suffrage movement; but also include material on the suffrage movement in England and several other European countries, as well as a wide range of issues including education, organized labor, social welfare, temperance, voter education, slavery, wartime experiences, and the women’s club movement.</p>
