Description
An account of the resource
Invitation embossed at the top with the "W.B." of the Woman's Bureau, reads: "The Ladies of the Woman's Bureau invite you to a reception on Tuesday evening Feby. 15th to celebrate the fiftieth Birthday of Susan B. Anthony. On this occasion her friends will be afforded an opportunity to testify their appreciation of her lifelong services in behalf of Elizth B. Phelps, Mrs. N. B. Darley, Charlotte B. Wilbour No. 49 East 23rd St., New York, February 10, 1870."
Elizabeth B. Phelps, a benefactor to Anthony's newspaper, The Revolution, opened the Woman's Bureau to house artists' studios and offices for women's organizations and to provide overnight accommodations for women visiting the city. In 1869, Anthony moved the office of The Revolution to the first floor of the house and that same year, the National Woman Suffrage Association was established there.

Description
An account of the resource
This appeal urges women to demand equal rights and argues that women were already enfranchised with the Fourteenth and Fifteenth amendments.
The National Woman Suffrage and Educational Committee was created to coordinate the fight for women's rights through the country, distribute publications to assist in those efforts, and appeal for donations for a printing fund.

Description
An account of the resource
Gerrit Smith was a social reformer in support of abolition, temperance, women's rights, and ecumenism. He utilized the broadside format to espouse his views and influence public opinion, and authorized printing of more than 600 broadsides in his lifetime.
In this letter, Smith details his support for woman's suffrage, refuting arguments that the framers of the Constitution intended to deny this right. He also discusses his support for the temperance movement: "Then there are two reforms with which the Republican party cannot afford to delay identifying itself. On of them is the recognition in woman of all the political rights exercised by man. The other is the arresting of the dramshop ruin of our country by no longer licensing or suffering the dramshop, that great manufactory of all sorts and sizes of criminals."
