                <text>Salt glaze pitcher that depicts a miner on one side and a woman on the other. Other images include a spade, pick, lighthouse or water pump, ax and a miner's claw. The slogan "Suffrage Universel" appears on each side. &#13;

The pitcher is blue with brown, green, and red highlights. All designs appear against a pebbled ground. &#13;

On the bottom is an underlined "T" for the creator, Thurner. Similar to pieces produced by Royal Doulton in England, it may have been exhibited at one of the women's exhibition halls at the 1888 Brussels Exposition Universelle. The pitcher has been broken and repaired, evidenced by the cracks along the top. </text>
