    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[The National Council of Women of the United States was founded in 1888 as a part of the International Council of Women, a new organization intended to establish connections between women&#039;s rights organizations across the world. May Wright Sewall was the second president of the National Council of Women of the United States, following Frances E. Willard. <br />
