The Empire State Campaign Committee was a coalition of organizations, including the Women's Suffrage Party, the Women's Suffrage Association, the Women's Political Union and other similar organizations, headed by Carrie Chapman Catt. It was created to bring New York women together in support of the state woman suffrage amendment. The referendum was defeated in 1915 but passed two years later in November 1917.</text>
