Leaflet appeals for contributions to establish an official memorial to Dr. Anna Howard Shaw at Bryn Mawr College, a Foundation in Politics; and at the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania, a Foundation in Preventive Medicine. The resolution to complete the memorial was adopted during NAWSA's Victory Convention held in Chicago in February, 1920.

Correspondence, conference programs, speeches, position papers, newsletters, sheet music, congressional reports, stock certificates, printed materials, and more present a view of the individuals and organizations that fought for and against political, economic, and social rights for women. <br /><br />The records primarily document the American suffrage movement; but also include material on the suffrage movement in England and several other European countries, as well as a wide range of issues including education, organized labor, social welfare, temperance, voter education, slavery, wartime experiences, and the women’s club movement.</p>

Follow-up to a soliciation letter sent by Robert Whitehouse, President of the Men's Equal Suffrage League, to Edward Merrill, Maine State Senator and a member of the League's executive committee. Treathouse requested both a financial contributionand Merrill's recommendations for men in his town who could serve as Town Committeemen to help organize for the state suffrage referendum.
In 1917, the Maine Suffrage Amendment was defeated by a vote of 40,000 to 20,000. In 1919, Maine became the third New England state to ratify the federal amendment and when a referendum vote was held, Maine women won the right to vote in presidential elections.
