Brief update on the progress of "General" Rosalie Jones and her "army" of suffrage hikers from Manhattan to Albany, New York to present suffrage petitions to Governor-Elect William Sulzer and draw publicity to the cause.
Rosalie Jones was a member of the National American Woman Suffrage Association who led a group of NAWSA members on a suffrage pilgrimage from Manhattan to Albany, New York. The "pilgrims" presented the petition to Governor-elect Sulzer three days after they arrived in Albany.
Two months later, Jones organized another pilgrimage from New York City to Washington, D.C. for the March 3, 1913 suffrage parade.

Formal invitation to NAWSA's annual convention, dubbed the "Victory Convention" and held in Chicago, Illinois.
At the time of the convention, 33 states had ratified the federal suffrage amendment. The victory came on August 18, 1920 when Tennessee became the 36th and final state to ratify the amendment.
At the convention, Carrie Chapman Catt formally founded the League of Women Voters as a "mighty political experiment" to help women carry out their new responsibility as voters.

Reprint of an address given several times by Dr. Anna Howard Shaw, and received by the League to Enforce Peace the day before her death in 1919. It was subsequently published as a memorial to Shaw and includes her appeal for support of the League of Nations Covenant.
