Title

Booklet : Ten little suffergets. [Circa 1910-1915]

Description

The Potsville, Pennsylvania branch of the Pomeroy's Department Store published this anti-suffrage booklet that tells the story of ten little girls holding up various suffrage banners as one by one they are diverted from their task, leaving none. The girls carry protest signs supporting women’s suffrage, as well as Equal Rights, Cake Every Day, No Home Rule, Down with Teachers, Down with the Men, and No More Spanking.

The text is adapted from the song "10 Little Injuns" written by Stephen Winner in 1868, which was adapted from the Irish folk song "Michael Finnegan."
